Not to be overshadowed by the livestock shows, the Indoor Projects hold their own! These projects have been poured into all year by current San Luis Valley 4-H Members. Indoor Projects have a huge range of subjects from gardening, photography, baking, ceramics, robotics and so much more! There is truly something for every 4-H member at the fair. Stop by the Ski Hi building and check out the exhibits, discover what projects were selected to advance to the Colorado State Fair and admire all the hard work these kids have put in!
4-H Members, check out the links below to find out more information on check-in, judging, interviews, check-out and rules. Results are posted at the bottom of this page as they come in!
Ranging from baked goods to flowers to quilts to photography, there is something for everyone at the San Luis Valley Fair. Open to everyone in the community, the Open Classes are a wonderful way to display your skills and projects. There is no entry fee for the Open Classes and no pre-registration is required! See the below pdf for a listing of all of the classes, divisions and rules.
Enter when you arrive with your project, August 4, 2024 from 6-8pm. Classes will be judged the following day and will be on display through the rest of the fair. All projects are released on Friday, August 10 before the sale and supper begins. Any items left after release will be taken to the Extension Office for later pickup. Items left after thirty days will be donated or disposed of, depending on the project.
We know how much effort and time it takes to make a lasting memory in the form of a quilt. We would like to celebrate quilting and share each quilt's story with a new Quilt Show: Threads of Creativity. This show is unjudged and quilts will be on display the entire week of fair. Each quilt on display will have an accompanying story of its own history and journey. Please call Janae Naranjo at the SLV Extension Office, 719-852-7381, for more information.

Download or open the Fair Book right above this section. Find the department and class that matches your entry.
Swing by the Extension Office and pick up a blank entry tag. Fill it all of it out with the exception of the exhibitor number. Please leave that area blank as we will assign you an exhibitor number when you check-in.
If you aren't able to make it to the Extension Office before check-in at fair, that is ok! We will have blank tags available for you to fill out when you arrive.
Bring your entry and completed tag(if you have one) to one of the two check-in times. Judging of Open Classes will start promptly at 12:00 pm, so no late submissions will be accepted.
